Hardship Help

Billie is here to support you. If you're finding it hard to meet a repayment, please reach out – we'd much rather work something out than let it become a problem.

What is financial hardship?

Financial hardship occurs when circumstances prevent you from meeting your financial obligations. Common triggers include:

  • Relationship breakdown or bereavement
  • Financial abuse or domestic violence
  • Prolonged illness or injury affecting income
  • Job loss or involuntary income reduction
  • Emergency events or natural disasters

How we can help

Since Billie's advances require repayment within 62 days, our hardship support focuses on finding practical solutions within the existing term. We work collaboratively with you to find an approach that suits your situation.

What we may need from you

To assess your situation we may ask for documentation such as bank statements, financial information, employer letters, Centrelink notices, medical records, or legal documents relevant to your circumstances.

Timeline

We will provide a written response within 21 days of receiving your application. If we need additional information, the timeframe extends to 28 days from the date of that request.

If we can't help

In some situations we may be unable to assist – for example if insufficient information is provided within 21 days, if there is no anticipated improvement to your financial situation within six months, or if you have demonstrated sufficient funds to cover repayments. If we decline your application, you will receive a written explanation.
